She was the belle of Johnson County

Ah! Nothing warms me up like a little Loretta Lynn on an icy Saturday morning. For your listening and viewing pleasure I present to you two versions of the same family favorite, Van Lear Rose. The first is sung expertly by seven-year-old Priscilla who listened to the song on CD no less than 75 times in order to memorize all the lyrics. The second (below) is sung/shouted by three-year-Mary.  Enjoy!

Oh Molly - Thanks for sharing those wonderful performances! Your girls were so earnest in their singing and Priscilla had those lyrics down cold, didn't she?

Combine Mary's exuberance with Ben's opera voice and I think you would have a traveling show people would pay money to see. :)

Happy weekend to you all,
Michelle

Hey Molly,
There are so many little things I love in all these pictures---the naked Barbie (co-starred with Tribot), the fact that Priscilla seems to be wearing this beautiful necklace at all times, and is it just me or were Grandma and Grandpa laughing in the background over Mary? I always feel as if I have gotten to visit with you.
Waiting anxiously for your book,
Janine

Love them! How fun for them to be able to look back in future years!
