With Faith and Love Draw Near

This image, right here, of Benjamin, Elijah, Priscilla, and Mary waiting expectantly to receive the Eucharist during Divine Liturgy, warms my soul and fills my heart with such contentment. When they open their little mouths to "taste the Fountain of Immortality," I am reminded that God adores them even more than I do, that I should trust that Christ will lead them through both the mountains and the valleys that are necessary for their salvation. But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14.

Love! Love! LOVE! Loved looking at this while "Precious Memories" played on...
"Oh give thanks unto the Lord - for all that He has done for you. Alleluia!"

Sweet shot, Molly. My wife and I are not yet catechumens at our church, but I loved watching the line of faithful waiting to receive the Body and Blood this last Sunday. We usually sit in the balcony but I took our 3-year-old down to the front of the church and we watched together. He loves watching and when we get home he talks about the spoon a lot. It's funny. But he's probably ready more than all of us to partake!

Thanks for sharing this photo!

Oh, I loved sharing it so thank YOU for enjoying it also. You are right, Neil, about little kids naturally wanting to partake of the Eucharist. It is fascinating for me to watch our two-year-old stand with such anticipation, tiny arms crossed and all.

Unity, how nice that you visited my blog! Please come back again, it is great to hear from you!
