Forever Young

Just so you know, today's photo blog is being sponsored by Aqua Net Hairspray (the aerosol version, of course) and Primo perfume. The year is 1989, and I am cheerleading my little old heart out because school spirit is my EVERYTHING along with "Big Gulps" from 7-11 and the movie Beaches. It isn't easy performing hurkeys while wearing three- inch-wide hoop earrings, but I will gladly sacrifice comfort for the sake of my squad now inspiring, through our stiffness, the Lancer's offensive line (it is offense, right?) to score a touchdown.
Ahh, High School...how humiliating.

Wicked shot! Brings back some of my memories. "Forever Young" was our Prom theme, as was everyone elses.

Ha! Or more accurately, if you love the smell of an eye burning haze of Georgio poisoning your locker room...

"Forever Young" was our Homecoming Theme! What a song!

Wow! To most Aussies, cheerleading seems like an urban myth. But you really did it!

For some reason I am having the darndest time imagining you are a cheerleader :-)

Oh the memories! Was Forever Young the theme of the Homecoming we went to with Todd and John?
I have actually discovered that I like aerosol hairspray although it now lasts about a year! I can't use Aqua Net though!

I am actually a sophomore in that particular photo. Yes, it is hard to believe but true - once upon a time I spent HOURS practicing splits, kicks, and cheers in my backyard. Oh, Sara! I believe it WAS our homecoming theme, although now I am second guessing myself that perhaps the "Forever Young" I am thinking of was not by Alphaville (although I'm certain it was played and danced to) but the Rod Stewart version. See if Judy remembers. Didn't your date have a black eye?

I think it was the Rod Stewart version. I had totally forgotten about my date's black eye. Can you believe it was almost 20 years ago?

Molly, you don't appear to have aged a bit! It is clear to me that you have discovered the fountain of youth (I had no idea it was in Indiana!). Would you please bottle some up and send it to me? Thanks!

LOL!!! I can't sooo relate! It was difficult doing hurkeys (I never even knew how to spell that) with big ole' hoop earrings! Just put on some Debbie Gibson tapes and we're set! Love this one!
